ITI8910 - Special Topics in Scientific Visualization
First meeting is possible Wednesday 10-11:30 o'clock. Please confirm by e-mail to Heiko Hermann, hh@cens.ioc.ee.
Topics of the course :
The course will deal, in different level of detail, with the whole process
of scientific visualization. The course will cover topics from data
documentation and polishing to the final visualization, passing by the
filtering, conversion and elaboration of the data-sets.
The aim of the course is to teach the correct approach to Scientific
visualization and some of the most common techniques. Additionally, some
highlights on the application of scientific visualization on the Kyb3, the
Virtual Reality system of the Institute of Cybernetics, will be offered to
the participants.
Structure of the course : The course is mainly based on exercises/projects, whose progress and results will be validated during the meeting times. It will depend mainly on the amount of students attending it. In case of a number of students greater than 5, there will be a lecture/meeting (Thursday at 16) every 2-3 weeks, still to be determined. Additional meeting times can be agreed in case of support requests for the course projects during the semester.
